Linuxgr84u
I am new to modding games but having quite a bit of knowledge of computing have gotten the hang of loot, fo3edit and the deeper things therein. Up to this point I have been modding fallout 3 that does not require steam and everythings going well (I can not imagine using a console to game on anymore-no modding). So I purchased the new vegas dvd and it requires steam even though I have the full dvd. Is there a FAQ I can read informing me of the differences of modding a steam game vs a standalone install? TheVampireDante
All legal copies of Fallout New Vegas are steam linked, having the disc or downloading from Steam makes no real difference (from disc install is a bit faster though). As for mods - installing them for NV is no different than for Fallout 3, The structure of the two games is basically the same, so just install your mods like you would for Fallout 3. Oubliette
There's no difference. Really none, though it's important to note that moddable games are best installed in someplace other than "C:/Program Files" or in any OS from Vista upwards but that's not different whether your using a game like Fallout 3 that doesn't require Steam or FNV that does.
