Request: NCR prison Bug Fix

btw if you do need a voice over i might be able to do it for you. just send me the lines that need recorded and ill see what i can do.

 

Nice...now I just have to write something that doesn't sound moronic when I look at it again.

 

 

 

And yeah...they didn't have it there at all...there were triggers that were set by the events, but were never used in any radio or ending script...so I had to make my own.

 

I think I can make a conversation node on the old man in Primm that will only show up if you are not currently in the "I fought the law" quest that starts it from there. So I'll do that once I get you a good script for the radio.

how about "This is Private *name* speaking for the NCRCF Task Force. We have successfully retaken the prison from the Powder Gangers. The facility will soon be back to normal operations shortly."

 

and an alternate for when I get the Mesmetron-prisoner-capture segment working: "This is Private *name* speaking for the NCRCF Task Force. The correctional facility is now back under NCR control. We are offering a bounty on all Powder Gangers, 500 NCR Dollars alive, 100 dead."

 

...I don't know...that's like my 10th attempt and it still seems more stilted than a line from a SquareSoft game... ... ...feel free to ad-lib.

not sure a private would be given the privlage to make such an announcement ..maybe sgt or whatever. when i get some time ill make a few recordings and you can pick what you like. you may also want to have an npc placed in the prison with the same name... possibly in cell block a or b with prisoners locked in the cells? just brainstorming.

Found the NCR ranks on the wiki. Might go with Corporal here. I'll just think up a random name for the guy.

since the audio assets weren't even there...I went with simply hiding the radio message, and pointing the endgame to the "NCRCF abandoned" segment. If anyone wants to volunteer their voice for an "interview" with an NCR soldier that was in the assault, I will put that in in place of the blank that is there now.

 

Still haven't gotten the quest to be triggerable from NCR side...working on it

also...no luck so far with shifting ownership...I know it can be done because there are two other locations that shift faction in the game, I just need to see how they did it.

(side note, how does anyone feel about me attaching a script that triggers on Eddies' death and removes everything in the NCRCF from the "stolen goods" category?)

 

I get the vibe Obsidian just shipped "as is" on some of these side quests. Did you ever take a look at the NCR monorail explosion side quest?

yeah...also neither the radio nor the caravans recognize you clearing Nipton or Nipton highway...I guess I'm gonna work on that too...

I'm pretty sure it's going to be all of the side-quests are broken...and possibly a few of the main quest tokens...I still haven't gotten past the junkyard because I keep patching something up and then restarting...
