Does anyone know if the generic inquisition armor (the stuff sold by the merchant in Haven/Skyold that looks like the stuff Inquistion soldiers wear) could possibly be modded to be viable?

This armor:

(and it's accompanying medium/light sets)

I personally love the look of the armor (the mage set specifically), but sadly you never get a decent variant of it. It's pretty much outclassed by anything you get after the first 1-2 hours of the game.

I understand that modding for this game is... not exactly supported, but that progress is being made slowly. Should I ever expect these sets to get T3 variants/schematics (or possibly a mesh swap with existing T3 armor) from the modding community, or is it a pipe-dream given the current state of modding this game has?

You can change the appearance of your armor with cheat engine, and still use armor that is viable stats-wise. Directions here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2424679-cheat-engine-table-information/&do=findComment&comment=21483174

Item Codes Here:http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=rBvCGsX0

The ones you would want for the Inquisition armors are as follows:

Heavy (warrior):

DA3/Equipment/Crafting/EquipTemplates/Armors/Heavy/equip_template_armor_heavy_1p_inquisition

Medium (rogue):

DA3/Equipment/Crafting/EquipTemplates/Armors/Medium/equip_template_armor_medium_1p_inquisition

Light (mage):

DA3/Equipment/Crafting/EquipTemplates/Armors/Light/equip_template_armor_light_1p_inquisition

Is it possible to use Cheat Engine to turn an armor into... say, Cullen's armor? Or one of the other armors you see on NPCs around the game that aren't in any shops or drops?

I don't think so, not unique follower armors - but don't quote me on it. All those codes are the only ones I know of and I didn't see Cully Wully's in there anywhere. :/

What I expected, but I'm still disappointed.

I can't wait for the tool kit to cover mesh swap.
