Some good gameplay/combat difficulty mod?

So I return once again to play through Dragon Age origins with awakening..

I played through it once when it was released last year or whenever that was and Im looking for some good mods that increase difficulty and improve gameplay.

 

Midway through my first campaign I installed Nightmare plus mod and it was good, but surely there must be some better mods after so much time?

Basically I want a chess match every few battles, that was so satisfying when you are just barely surviving a battle or fail and try again with a different tactic and it works..

And I want to make use of poisons, bombs and all the good stuff this time.. I bet 95% of players just ignored that stuff as winning battles is easy without any of that..

 

I see now that Combat Tweaks is the most popular gameplay mod and its fairly new and updated.. Does it fit my description or not?

Im playing with it now and Im out of Ostagar and I dont recall any harder battle, maybe its still early in the game or that mod doesnt make it harder?

 

And one more thing I notice in CT is that if enemy attacks someone, you cast forcefield on him and they continue to attack him. In Nightmare plus they switch targets..

And if there are 2 enemies close to each other and you attack one from distance the other one just stands there.. In Nplus all nearby enemies are alerted..

So is that old quickly abandoned mod better or what?

Its a shame, that guy had big plans for Nplus but stuff came up and its abandoned ever since..
