Extracting files from the BSA's

I am really wondering how people are coming up with these retexture mods because every BSA unpacker I have tried doesn't work with FONV. Can someone send me a link to one that does, or explain how I can do so if there is another method?

Thank you.

You need to change the number type of the BSA ( 68 for fallout) to 67 ( oblivion ) before unpacking with a BSA unpacker program created for oblivion.

obviously, you have to change again to 68 to play.

What if I am using a BSA unpacker that was made for use with FO3?

How do I change the number type...does this have to do with hex editing? I don't know anything about hex editing, I just use programs like BSA Commander etc.

the number of both is the same ( 68) but BSA commander was created for oblivion, it's explained in the description: BSA commander

to use an hex editor is not hard, just load the bsa and change the 5th number.

you'll find some free or demo editor easily, personnaly i use 010 editor, it's not free but you can use the demo version 10 times.

BSA Commander was just the only name I could think of off the top of my head, I know I had one made for FO3. Actually now that I think about it I think I used the one built into FOMM, well whatever.

Anyways I'll give it a shot and see what happens, thanks a bunch man.
