Rossum
Okay, the Courier has saved the Wasteland, the economy has picked up and people want to buy stuff. But all the 200 odd year old salvage is being used up and people are wanting to buy something new. You step in and start up a business to make something. Maybe selling repairing bags, a new soft drink, some booze or a new type of weapon. Whatever the case, New Vegas needs an economy and you've got the chance to start a brand name going! Wow the world with a soft drink that hasn't been sitting in a hot broken vending machine since before most peoples grandparents were born. Ideas: 1. Find out the recipe for Sunset Sarsaparilla and start making new stuff under my own brand name. Get a few different flavors but be particularly interested in its healing properties (I've been playing the game in Hardcore and Sunset Sarsaparilla has been my primary method of healing damage). I'd call it Viva-Lixer (like Viva Elixer) and sell it in the New Vegas area. Plus I'd get those vending machines fixed up and change them so that they accept casino chips to pay for the stuff. I don't think theres any good way to have vending machines use bottlecaps and the casino chips look like they could handle that function better. As long as all the casinos make their chips have the same value then it would be perfect. 2. Maybe another drink thats basically purified water with flavoring in it. Used primarily to keep people from dying of thirst and letting them know that the bottle is pure. It could be some kind of tea or something, make it tasty to drink while still lowering thirst. 3. Canned Food or some other food item, like rations or MREs. I don't think there is much refrigeration available in the Mojave Desert so all those Iguana on a Stick and Squirrel Stew should be going bad if left out. So, preserved food in cans or jars or jerky form so people can have decent food to eat. 4. And finally, if I can get into the energy weapons business then get access to the Recharger Rifle technologies and those Microfusion Breeder power cells. If those things are generating energy somehow then make more of them to solve ammo and energy problems. Maybe sell cheap recharger pistols but have cords hooked up so they can be used to power electronic appliances when not used for killing people. Or have a recharging microwave gun that can shoot bandits or heat up a bowl of soup in less than a minute! I'd call it a Cooking Pistol where it would be useful for cooking food, boiling water, starting fires, powering other appliances, and maybe killing small animals or people if necessary. TotalRookie
Lots of interesting ideas for mods I like it. Energy Cell powered refrigerator would be cool. I suppose one thing I would try to sell would be: Organs (I mean what wasteland doctor has extra pieces lying around? Could be a lucrative business for evil characters  ) Or some sort of makeshift weapons or armor (Bone weapons or armor from animals, fur maybe, metal armor from robots)Not sure if this is in vanilla NV but poison that can be applied to throwing spears, or food from Rad Scorpions Drugs (with the proper ingredients)Makeshift ammunition (bits of tin cans?) Just a few ideas I have, with the proper mods I think the items available for sale would become more useful/practical/realistic.
Liquidacid23
I'd just make my own brand of booze.. alcohol is insanely easy to make.. with wine being the easiest , but even hard liquor is very very easy to make if you know how to build a still, which is actually very simple.. I when I was in the Corps I was stationed in Iraq, where you can't really get booze, we built a still... I also built one last year in my garage but apparently in the US without a bunch of licenses it's illegal to own one.. tho making wine and beer is legal , so I got ride of it *wink wink*
