Wierd problem with Origins

My issue is exactly what the description says. I made my first "custom" items yesterday and now every time I try to create a character in Origins/Awakening im getting 2 points for every point I spend on stats, now normaly I wouldnt complain but... my custom items wont load into game they load fine in previously created games but not on any new characters. Any advice would be apreciated.

The problem that you're having with the custom items not loading on new characters is a script incompatibility with patch 1.03/1.04. After installing either of those two patches you need to DEactivate any mods which load items into inventory or containers or npcs until after you play the character long enough to make a savegame. After you've made your save on that character you can go back and reactivate those mods. They should then load up as they are supposed to.

 

The problem that you're having with the points doubling up... well that could be a few things. That one is hard to track down, but it's most likely something in your material properties, or in one of the properties that deals with attributes. Hard to say on that one.

Thanks for the help guys, disabeling my custom item mod fixed it right up (both issues) which leaves me wondering WTF I did wrong... I followed weriKK's blog to the letter and my mod still WTFPWND my game, hmmm I wonder if it could have somthing to do with making Dalish Leather boots out of steel? outside that I realy didn't do anything that unusual.

OH a FYI the mod causing the issue is Adaia's Armor (custom mod im working on and will release if I ever hear back from the author of the original mod I based it off).

You may want to have a look at this Tutorial on Adding Your Own Items to the Game it uses the console to add your items and doing it that way can prevent many of the issues that sometimes crop up with item mods.

TY Rusty, ill try and figure out doing that. What I realy wanted to do was drop it in your chest in the alienage, but alas that is still outside my ability sphere ^.^

That tutorial will actually allow you to put it in your inventory before you even step toward the chest :cool:
