Yet another Infinite loading screen thread...

Hello all.

So, I get the infinite loading screen consistently when I enter Riften, and sporadically throughout the rest of the game, often when fast-travelling. I managed to get into Riften once after using console command PCB. I have not tested further to see if this produces consistent results.

In the readout below, ENB, setting set to low, and the minimal autosaves were included in my multiple attempts to solve this problem over the course of the last few days. They were not successful.

Here is the data on my system and game setup:

Desktop PC System info:
Microsoft Windows Xp Service Pack 3
AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor BE-2350
2.11 GHz, 3.25 GB RAM
VCard: ATI Radeon HD 4600 series
Game location:
D:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim
Drive D currently has 5.55Gb free space after mods.
Runing All official patch updates.
Running no unofficial patch updates(they make my game crash on startup, still don't know why)
Running Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn. NOT running HD texture packs.
Running SKSE 1.7.1
Running ENB Skyrim
Runnign NMM Legacy
Load Order:
GameMode=Skyrim
Skyrim.esm=1
Update.esm=1
Dawnguard.esm=1
HearthFires.esm=1
Dragonborn.esm=1
SkyUI.esp=1
Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1
ASLAL - Hearthfire Support.esp=1
RaceMenuPlugin.esp=1
RaceMenu.esp=1
TheBigPakzEyes.esp=1
_eyes_Masker.esp=1
EmpoweredMagic.esp=1
EmpoweredMagic_Dawnguard.esp=1
EmpoweredMagic_Dragonborn.esp=1
Fast Respawns And Rich Merchants.esp=1
Essential followers - all followers.esp=1
lighterpotions.esp=1
morrowindimports.esp=1
smithing&clothings_variety_mod.esp=1
portal2mod.esp=1
Mods that don't seem to show up in the load order:
CTD and Memory Patch ENBoost
Safety Load - SafteyLoad 1_2
Stable uGrids ToLoad - Cell Stabilizer
Necromancy 101 - Necromancy 101 v1_1
Nude Male with Import from Roberts new vegas male - Nude Male Cut v1_5
Can't run LOOT cuz I'm on xp and it won't install. Can't run BOSS because Masterlist fails to authenticate and then it crashes.
At this point Graphics are set to low, only autosave setting is when fast travelling.
I've considered running some custom ini files that I found on other posts, but prefer to seek the more knowledgeable opinions of others first.
Any advice or direction would be appreciated, thank you.

Some time ago I have infinite loading screen problems and Safety Load fix that absolutely, it don't help you? that's weird. :sad:

There was a time when it helped to greatly reduce the infinite loading screen frequency, and almost completely eliminated my CTD issues, but yeah, no, it never fully eliminated it.

Okay - here are some trouble shooting ideas for you to look at. Yes, I realize that you might have tried some or all - but just trying to help:

This is a list of the most common 'CTD' issues and areas to look. NO - not all will fit in a given situation, obviously. But 9 times out of 10 - the answer is 1 or more of these.
1st - Do you have any of the DLC's?
.. Dawnguard - Hearthfires - Dragonborn.
They Must be loaded in this exact order:
Open the Skyrim Icon and see:
PLAY
OPTIONS
DATA FILES <---
TECH SUPPORT
EXIT.
Click on the DATA FILES and a POP-UP window will show.
Skyrim.esm - ( if you see it )
Updates.esm - ( if you see it. )
.......... USkP
Dawnguard.esm
.......... UDgP
Hearthfires.esm
.......... UHfP
Dragonborn.esm
.......... UDbP
Again - they MUST be in this exact order at the very top of the LOAD ORDER.
Do you have any of the Unofficial Patches. They too must follow a very specific load order.
2nd - Do you have any sex mods?
Before any "FLAME" - I could actually care less if you have them. But Skyrim and your computer might. Thus ....
... If you do - delete them, they are always seriously problematic with Skyrim.
...... Also if you do, you will have to start the game over. There is no options as your saved games are trashed.
Also read # 7 - as this too > WILL < need to be done.
3rd - Mods.
... First do you have too many running for you computer. Lower end usually handle 50 - 70 +/-
... Mid Range can handle give/take about 100. Again, this in general - as systems can be different ...
>> Go to the specific mod forums and READ and read carefully. I cannot tell you how many users do not read the Description Page and Read the Forum Posts to note any requirements and bugs.
IE: things to note:
-> Requires any or all DLC's.
-> Requires a 2nd Party mod:
..... SKSE - SkyUI - SkyRE - Unlimited Bookshelves - Cloud Storage - Texture Mod - to name a few but NOT limited to this. These are just a few examples.
If you have SkyRE -> Make sure you check all mods that they are compatible with SkyRE - not all mods are and thus will cause CTD issues.
-> Do any mods doing the same thing?
IE: There are a number of mods that change the physical appearance of < CITY > < PLAYER > < HOME/BUILDING > and such? If you have any mods that do, are they conflicting with each other? Strong likely hood if you do.
A lot of this depends on your CPU Speed / RAM and Video Card - and RAM.
Do you have one of the mods that gives an alternate start to the game?
Read carefully the Mod Forums Description Pages that you are subscribed to. Make 100% certain you have / are meeting all the requirements and note carefully what they will > NOT < work with.
Also read # 7 - as this too > WILL/MIGHT < need to be done.
4th - Get: [url:http://loot.github.io/] LOOT [/url]
.. Run it and allow it arrange your mods.
5th - Finally, if you have deleted and/or turned OFF too many of your mods and saved the game, there is a strong likely hood that the saved games are trashed. So do not try to use those saved games. You will simply have to start over. Sorry - but you will.
6th - Turn > OFF < High Rez Texture Pack 1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3. These are known to cause problem on Low End Computer / Graphics and Mid Range. They also, though not as often can create issues with High End Machines.
7th - A File Directory that is often over-looked:
This is ONLY FOR games that have saved files - as you have been playing already and you game started to CTD.
<drive>:\My Games\Skyrim
Create a directory: \holding in this folder.
So now you see:
<drive letter\:\My Games\Skyrim\holding
Move >ALL< Files & Folders into this HOLDING directory. Do not COPY - MOVE THEM. So the only thing you see is:
<drive letter\:\My Games\Skyrim\holding
You see NO other files and/or folders or anything other than:
<drive letter\:\My Games\Skyrim\holding
Now start the game with the Normal Skyrim Game Launcher Icon and IF you did this right, it will go through the "SETTING VIDEOS" and such. Let it do this, as it shows the above was done correctly.
Now if you also use SKSE - then EXIT the Normal Skyrim Game Launcher and run you game with SKSE and it too will re-set the folders and such as well.

Friend, I think who does not read is you, the guy have all the DLC's and in good load order, he can't run LOOT because he is using Windows XP and he is using only 15 mods, I mean to whom you talk?

@ Sneaksmile.

Geesh sorry that bothered you so much. :mellow:

Next time, please feel free to ignore my posts .... :dry:

Not bother me at all, you are trying to help but it is incongruous that you write that people do not read and you make the same. LOL

@jjb54

I appreciate the help, I really do, but please read the original post in its entirety before replying. I wrote in my original post that I did 5 of the 7 things you suggested, before you suggested them, and the other two (number 4 and 7) don't apply, as I have noted in the description in my first post.

I know you're trying to help, but it's a lot more effective if you actually read what I need help with...

Would you like to go back up to the top, actually read what I posted, and try again? I'd appreciate it.
