Xalder1 Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 Okay so my idea is that some sort of inventer creates this device that creates objects from gold while you wander around cyrodill, and either rents or sells it to you. What the device does: The device takes some of the player's gold and, with some magical and alchemical catalysts, turnes that gold into one of three items, depending on what the player wants created.-The first item is for those people who are marksmen, the device takes 7 gold and transforms them into a golden arrow, which is a silver arrow that does slightly less damage (it can damage ghosts, etc.)-The second item is for people who can't seem to find those repair hammers they so desperately need, plus all the repair hammers they get break too fast (this is for non-masters in armorer, naturally). The device takes 12 gold and transforms them into a golden repair hammer, which lasts twice as long as normal repair hammers.-The third item is for those thieves that could use that little extra boost, the device takes 3 gold and transforms them into golden lockpicks. These lockpicks give the user 25 skill in security (so that one less tubler than usual will fall when the player fails). The device works based on the player's activities, the more the player moves, the more energy is generated for the device to work. 100 percent efficiency is when the player is awake and standing still. The rest of the values are based off of this. 15-25%- Player is sleeping75%- Player is awake and crouching (they're trying to move less than when standing normally to remain undetected) Perhaps this number could be closer to 80-85%100%- Player is standing/ Player is walking while crouched125%- Player is walking/ Player is running while crouched150%- Player is swimming slowly (swimming in walk mode)175-200% Player is swimming quickly (swimming in run mode) I don't know how it should work while player is fighting, I'll leave that up to the person skilled enough to actually create this! Now the energy generated by the player's motions are put entirely into creating the desired object, each object takes a different ammount of time to generate: Golden Lockpick: 1 item : .5 (in-game) hours @ 100% efficiencyGolden Arrow: 1 item : 1 (in-game) hours @ 100% efficiencyGolden Repair Hammer: 1 item : 10 (in-game) hours @ 100% efficiency I think a good idea for the ability to obtain this item would be having the player embark on a simple quest to obtain some of the alchemical ingredients and misc. items needed to complete the device for the NPC inventer/magician/whatever. After completing the quest the NPC allows the player the chance to purchase the device or rent it. If the player purchases the device, they can use it without any worry, but if they rent it, every time an item is generated, a little bit of gold will be magically "sent to the NPC," basically to "purchase" the item generated, but since you were providing the energy, it costs less than if you bought that item from the inventor (who, by the way, already created the gold items, and just wanted a way for them to be created with much less work) One last thing: the device would normally cost 8,000 gold, but the first time you buy it it's only 5,000 (since you helped the NPC find the ingredients) the 5,000 gold purchase will still be available the first time even if you rent it first.
