RedRocketTM
Okay... The version of the game I used was 1.1.511 already, but as far as I knew I was using the American patch on a German version of Oblivion. It worked fine. Only when I noticed that there was a new German patch, I decidet to use this instead, as my version is the German one too...But after I patched the game and started it, nothing worked anymore. It is impossible to create a new game. Also, if I load a saved game the loading screen will pop up, and then the game crashes to desktop imediately! What the f*** is wrong with that? I don't want to download all mods again, 'cause I didn't save them on HDD.Is there at least ANY way to remove the patch again without having to re-install the whole game? Maybe some kind of repairing tool or something like that? Help me please, I'm despairing.... -.-"
Marxist ßastard
All of your mods are in "Oblivion\Data", along with the Oblivion master file and artwork. You can salvage them by deleting Oblivion.esm and all of the art archives with names beginning with "Oblivion -", and then moving the entire Data directory someplace safe. All of your settings and savegames are in a directory under your home directory. Don't worry about them.Odds are you've completely trashed one or more essential game files. Even if there is a fix for this besides reinstalling Oblivion, it wouldn't really be worth the effort. There's a great deal of things wrong with Oblivion, but this isn't one of them. Don't go around blaming Bethsoft for things that are obviously your fault.
RedRocketTM
Mhm... I just reinstalled the game a new. On default version 1.0.128 (or something like that) everything works fine - except the mods that need the 1.1.511 patch. The game always crashes because of that.Tried to patch it again, with the German patcher... And guess what happened? Same problem again. I can neither start a new game, nore load a savegame. I'll always be kicked back onto desktop if I try...
Marxist ßastard
...Well then, just use the English patch. You said it worked fine.
RedRocketTM
That's what I tried, but it wouldn't even install at all...Anyway, I take back all of my complains.I found the problem. It was a horse cart mod, which worked fine on the old version I was running, while now it causes to game to crash combined with the maths.esm master file it belongs to...I guess I have to go find a new one, as I cannot miss it. ;)Even though, thanks for your help. ^^
