Some guy of Bethesda's Softworks said this in a thread on the official forums: "We have no plans to make an expansion for Oblivion. Whatever. ^^If there was anything all our great modders might have overseen, then they could do it! ^_~But to be honest, the game is fun enough atm. Although an expansion is never wrong.But if they build one, then they should really plan in an official multiplayer mod. They made such an efford on giving Oblivion the best role playing elements. But it's nearly impossible to RP alone, and the inofficial multiplayer mod that exist is in the alpha phase, and therefore not worked out to use it for that kind of playing. You even need 3 computers to run a server and play with your friend. And as far as I know the chat is missing too...I'd pay 50Dollars or even more for an expansion, if Bethesda could only manage to make Oblivion playable with up to 8 or maybe 16 people! To me it sounds impossible for me to RP WITH Multiplayer, with all kinds of people walking around talking about how 1337 they are, talking about the football match coming up the next day, and saying "I SELL DWARVEN ARMOR SEND ME A MESSAGE PLZZZZZZ". And where is the realism when you can chat to people 5 miles away, with popping up text messages? And Bethesda is way to good at single player rpg's to take the risk of making a multiplayer mod that could fail... Which I think the odds are high of. So you don't have to give away your IP if you want to avoid ppl talking like this.And you can set up your own rules.Like to see in my profile I play Lineage II too. On the official server, as well as on our own German RP freeshard, with all its rules to guarantee good RP.When I first came to the official server, I was really dissapointed due to the behaviour of the players there.But if you could build up your own server, just like it had been possible in NWN, you CAN acheave a well balanced RPG basing world. I miss my ring of hiricine soo much from bloodmoon, and horse combat, and flying mounts, and we need unarmored skill, allow for more skills to be chosen to level up with, dual wielding, another place, like valenwood.
