Also, ED-E's perk gives longer detection and VATS range. If you're looking for clues as to how to mod that.

 

I have yet to see the invisible wall issue, and I use a Hunting Rifle scope all the time to take down enemies at max range.

sigh...

okay, there's no issues with the hit detection in the game itself.

there's just a lot of places where the collision meshes outlay the visual ones. that's basically what they're for.

i could go on but the jist of it is that the engine can't handle the game without the walls.
