makutamon
This Mod is a great mod, but it needs a great quest to go with it. Other mods either don't do enough, or do too much. I would like it to be like this plug-in for Oblivion, but adapted for this weapon, and for Skyrim. I've already got this much figured out: Delve deep into the lore of the Dragon war, outwit the Thalmor, learn the ancient words, and (either forge a legendary blade for a legendary hero, recover the ancient blade meant for the dragonborn, or reforge a weapon broken by Alduin in ages past so it would never be used against him, can't decide which). The Dragonborn should also get help from House Hlaalu, who provide key information to finding the blade. The primary antagonist is going to be an elite agent of the Thalmor, while the temporary follower should be a member of the Morag Tong who seeks to kill the primary antagonist. This is what I got so far for the quest:If the blade is meant to be found, it should be guarded by a maskless Dragon Priest whose duty it is to watch over the blade and make sure it is never used against the dragons. If the blade is meant to be forged, It can only be made with a certain kind of ore found deep within an ancient dungeon, then travel deeper into the dungeon to find the forge fueled by dragonfire to make the blade, which is guarded by a Dragon Priest/Blacksmith who won't trust the dragonborn with his tools. If the blade is meant to be reforged, the seven fragments, along with the tools needed to forge them, are scattered in a secret draugr crypt that has been lost since the Dragon War, but is otherwise similar to the Forged Zahkrii sectionOther than that I got nothing. If anyone can add to this I would really appreciate it.
Catman030
Can I ask what you didn't like about my mod? I was pretty open to suggestions, and would have considered any ideas for making a more reasonable version if you felt that mine was too over the top. makutamon
One of the things that I didn't like was the fact that the shout used to power the sword also summons five ancient dragonborn. I also didn't like the fact that you have to use console commands to add it to your inventory. The sword should only have powerful energy damage, extra damage against dragons, and should scale according to how many words are used. I also want it to be part of a quest that delves into the lore of the Dragon War. Now I've got a plot figured out: The quest begins at level 40. The Jarl of Whiterun tasks the Dragonborn to slay a group of bandits in the hold. When he get's there, however, most of the bandits are dead, and the last surviving one is being tortured and interrogated by an elite Thalmor agent. Before the Dragonborn can intervene, a member of both House Hlaalu and the Morag Tong assassinates the member, only to find out that he assassinated the wrong one, and joins forces with with the Dragonborn to find his target. Information from the surviving bandit reveals that the Thalmor are after a weapon that might be older than the Aldmeri Dominion, and the Thalmor want for their own purposes. The quest follows clues to three different draugr crypts, each with a part of the shout required to imbue the blade with power; to the Throat of the World, where a dragon reveals that the sword's name (Zahkrii Do Dovahkiin); to a forgotten Dwemer Dungeon, where the dwemer did experiments on the blade to find out its material; To a secret meeting with members of House Hlaalu, who reveals the key information; and eventually to a forgotten Dragon Temple where the sword lies. Every step of the way, the Thalmor interfere, and in the Sword's resting place, the Elite Thalmor agent who is the primary antagonist paralyzes the dragonborn and his companion, but is slain by the sword's guardian, An ancient dragonborn spirit. I'll have more figured out later.
