Mallicant
Running: Dragon Age Origins. Ok, I have searched the forums and looked at other topics concerning the Console commands, followed each one, changed my KeyBindings.ini many times and still nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? I also have the mod installed that shows me commands, yet nothing. I have made the new shortcut, changed the target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" -enabledevelopersconsole I have changed KeyBindings.ini due to having a European keyboard following someone's advice: OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F12 I have Windows 7 - I am running it as Administrator. My game is patched to 1.04 I have the Ultimate edition, with all content added. I have followed the wiki and various other tutorials but whenever I enter the game no matter what chara I use, and hit the Keybind button and type a command the map, chara info etc will start popping up and I am able to move around, which I assume is the console not working. It is probably a small thing -- usually is! But any help is appreciated. I might just be stupid, but I'd like to mess around with the commands if I was able to. Thank You. Thandal
As you correctly recognize, the behavior you describe means that you are not, in fact, starting the Console at all. Can you provide a screenshot of your "Options -> Controls -> Key Assignments", and (ideally) an example of your particular keyboard's layout? Thanks! RustyBlade
Do you by any chance have an F Lock key on your keyboard? If you do, that may be the source of your problem; hit the F Lock and then F12 and it may work. If you don't have one I don't know what to tell you because everything looks to be right. Edit: Thandal ninja's me for a change...
Mallicant
Thanks for the replies, here is my keyboard: http://trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=12879 And a screenshot of my keys: Image 1 - Image 2 I'm also not sure what you mean by an F-lock ><'
Thandal
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant could you provide a visual of your keyboard's actual layout (which specific keys are where physically?) The product description page doesn't show that. Doesn't have to be a real picture of the keyboard itself, just a representation of the key placement. And for the key mappings, I can't see what you've designated for invoking the Console. Did I miss that? (Also, you seem to have blanked the one for "Quick Save". Was that intentional? I would NEVER do that...)
Mallicant
I have never changed the Quick Save button..the only key I have changed is the console one, I don't touch the rest. I feel really stupid, but I have a hard time understanding people sometimes. My keyboard keys are exactly set to this image: Here My Keybinds.ini (wouldn't let me attach etc). RustyBlade
You have double function on the F12 and that is probably where your problem is there. Try mapping it to F6 and see what happens.

Put it on F6 and still no cigar. I have tried many different keys and each time it doesn't work, I can still do normal functions with the keys even when tapping the console bind. Something must be wrong somewhere... I'm wondering if any of the installed mods would interfere with it.
XTR3M368
This is what I have mine set to and it works fine and opens with the tilde key....actually the tick key but you push the same button. (the one to the left of the #1 key and above your tab and caps lock) OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_GRAVEOpenConsole_1=(UNASSIGNED) Why is your Openconsole_1 assigned? It doesn't have to be. The console closes every time a command is entered anyway. You wouldn't by chance running a steam install, would you?

The console closes every time a command is entered anyway. I was messing about with them both, I changed it back to unassigned when I replaced "OpenConsole_0" with the F6 key. I tried Grave when it was the default one and it didn't work. You wouldn't by chance running a steam install, would you? I'm sorry I don't know what a steam install is? I had the original game baught for me Christmas last year and only last month did I actually start playing it. I purchased the Ultimate edition on Saturday because I loved the game so much. I put the disc in, installed it and only just patched it, it hasn't worked before or after the patch. And only just installed all the content that came with it. -- That is, if that's what your on about?!
