RustyBlade
Steam is just a way to purchase the game via download service and it has been known to cause problems but you have installed via DVD disc so that isn't an issue. You don't by any chance have any infrared hardware for your computer do you? I understand it plays hell with the Fallout guys who use it and the console. Ahh, I just thought it was another way to say "Pirated" XD You don't by any chance have any infrared hardware for your computer do you? Hmm It might have it installed but I never use it, I have a pre-made HP computer which was meant to have the infrared for TV controls but I never use it. Looking in Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > AVerMedia Consumer Infrared Receiver & Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver The Avermedia one is for my TV tuner card but It never works anyway so It can go, not sure about the Microsoft one. RustyBlade
Use the device manager to disable or uninstall your Infrared Receiver. (Best to just disable in case you need it in the future.) If you search the forums for "infrared" you will get a boatload of threads on the subject from other games should you need further info.

Disabled the AverMedia device and it auto disabled the Microsoft one. And you'll probably laugh at this, just as I said. Something small can often bugger it all..I decided to recheck the launcher.xml and was going to remove the "arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole" when I noticed that I missed the a from arguments! It now works fine xDD I do feel stupid but I hope other people get some help from this topic as well and I'd like to thank everyone for their help and support with this problem! You're awesome :)
