magnanimousmudd
on the quest "Oh My Papa" Apparently there is a dialogue option that you trigger with Papa Khan that gets Regis to talk to you outside the long house.Makes enough sense.BUT the problem is that I triggered that dialogue option like... 50 hours of playtime ago BEFORE I even accepted this quest, and so the quest is now locked up... (the path I would like to take at least) I cant give anyone Karls Journal, I cant give anyone the Slave Ledger or whatever is, I cant trigger that dialogue with Papa to trigger Regis coming up to me and talking to me, I cant Taunt Karl... ffs What I CAN do, is use console to commence to state '20' of the quest, where it has me going to convince Jack, Diane, and Melissa to oppose the alliance with the Legion, which I did, but after that I go back to the longhouse and there are still no new dialogue options. Does anyone have a workaround? Is there a magical console command that resets your interactions with a character? I just really don't want to kill Papa Khan.. I play as a very humanist type character, one who does as much good as possible and it feels so stupid that I have to kill him. Of course I can change the quest variables around too, but that often leads me nowhere new. If I change.. I think it was the one for Papa being convinced, it allows you to find the Mongol history book for him, and on return, they kill Karl.Sounds awesome, and I thought I had found my workaround, but it says to report back to the Dam and let her know that the mongols were Eliminiated... which isnt quite the outcome I wanted, considering I want the Khans to help. ProjectGSX
This sort of thing seems like a common problem with New Vegas. Its too easy to do things out of order or permanently destroy your chances of completing a particular quest. Too many weird variables you have to set properly, etc. With this particular quest, I was able to complete everything except for get the NCR person to agree to the alliance. Ironically, while I was there asking for the alliance, a bunch of NCR people aggroed on ED-E and shot him down. Didnt care about me or Veronica though. Buggy game.
