Modeling for Fallout new vegas.

Could someone help me find the male and female .nif files so I can base my armor on them ?

I cant seem to find them anywhere...

 

oh, and is there a niftools version for 3Ds max 2010 x64 ?

I'm not sure about where to find the files, but Niftools for 3ds are here:

The male and female meshes are located at "Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\characters\_male\" with the filenames "upperbody.nif" for the male and "femaleupperbody.nif"

 

also there has not been an x64 version of the plugin released as of this post.

I'd like to note that the most poplular female body for armors and clothing is type 3, or if you perfer, the SKINNY mod Is rather popular as well, for male bodies I can't really recommend anything.
