stebbinsd
When you defeat Alduin, you really aren't treated like much of a hero. Nobody except the Blades, Greybeards, and some random dialogue from town guards, even acknowledges your accomplishment! Even then, only the random guard dialogue actually seems to show anything regarding reverence for your accomplishment! I've gotten more thanks for killing a bandit leader for a bounty! At least then, the Steward gives you a cheap "thank you" for your feat! I'd like to see a quest added to the end of the main quest: "Celebrations." Capitol buildings' fast-travel locations would be disabled for the beginning of this quest. The first time, after defeating Alduin, that you enter a walled city, you will be greeted by thunderous roars from the entire city's populace. The Jarl will be waiting at the front of the crowd, and offer you a chariot to ride down the street on. You'll still be standing (as is the norm with chariots, rather than carriages), and there's even be a second spot for your follower to stand if you want them to come along (because Lydia fought by your side for a majority of the main quest; she deserves just as much recognition as you!). You will then be given three laps around the city's roads, with the townsfolk throwing random valuables (such as bags of septims, gems, jewelry, etc.) into the chariot for you to pick up. Meanwhile, the townsfolk are all be singing the Skyrim theme in English (e.g. instead of "Dovahkiin, fah hin kogaan mu draal," they would say "Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!"). Your follower - if you took him/her along with you - will also be waiving to crowd. Afterwards, you will be eligible to become thane of any hold, without having to become friends with the jarl. Also, every NPC in the game who's eligible for marriage would instantly be willing to marry you (you could configure this so that only the gender of your choice is now eligible, and you can also turn that off entirely), because who WOULDN'T want to marry the dragonborn who saved all of Nirn from the world-eater?! Some innkeepers would even allow you to sleep in their inns for free. Though it's not realistic that all of them would do that, some innkeepers will be of the opinion "Having the Dragonborn here is all the pay I need! Hey ... maybe I could slip in a quick blow job while he's asleep! What my husband doesn't know won't hurt him!" This would give you a much greater reward for completing the main quest, than just "bring one hero from sovngarde, but only one at a time." Laaaaaaaaaaaaame! Any takers?
