psiroflcopter Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 You'd think someone would have made it, but I scoured both fo3 and new vegas nexus to no avail! Where are all the shields? Since oblivion used shields I hope it would not be too hard a mod. I understand dual wielding is impossible so I don't expect a shield to be a standalone item. Instead I imagine modders could build sets of items, like a shield and spear, or shield and machete, as 1 item. The alt-fire would be used to block, and simply add DR to the user while held down. Not sure how similar oblivion and vegas are to each other, but i assume someone could extract the shield/1hand animations and apply them here. WastelandAssassin Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 as far as i can say, in Fallout, there are no separate left hand animations, while in Oblivion there areso in Oblivion, you could block with your left handbut for shields, that would require a whole new animation for shieldsalso, i'm not sure you can add these as one set, i think it will require a separate itemand there is one other problem, and that is that as far as i know, there in no shield slot in Fallout, so you would have to find a slot the shields to use so all in all, i wouldn't keep my hopes up on such a projectdon't get me wrong, it would be great, but i doubt it will be done...... psiroflcopter Posted November 1, 2010 Author Share Posted November 1, 2010 I agree it would require a new set of animations, I am curious if you could merge the oblivion 1hand attack + shield into one animation set somehow.For the shield slot I was wondering if you could use the same body slot that gloves take up on a person. WastelandAssassin Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 as far as i can tell you, you need to have one animation for attack, and one for block, and for the block animation, it would have to be attached to the right mouse button, which would require the script extender (as far as i can tell)also, if i remember correctly, many of the armors already use the glove slots, so you would have to change each armor in the game, to not use these slotsand the most important issue is that you will have to change the AI of all the enemies that use a shield, to block using it so to me, it sounds like one really long and hard project, that will do very little in the end Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
