Increasing Render/Load distance.

There is one thing worth noting about this setting though:

Once you have set it to a higher value and played with it you are stuck with it in the savegames after the change.

If you revert it to a lower setting and try to load a game you saved with a higher one it will give you an instant crash.

I raised mine to 8, and I like it there, allthough if I go too long without a loading screen, I start falling through the terrain.

This is a old post but its the only one I can find.

Does anyone know if this setting renders Everything further away? Grass, rocks, terrain and whatnot.

 

With modern gpu's we could probably tweek our graphics to load stuff like 10x further away without lag, and that would really improve the quality of the game in general.
