Lodgren
Kind of(actually very) new to modding any game, and I was making a new set of armor for Oblivion with 3ds. Took the basic upper body and added the armor around it and then exported it as .nif, then used construction set to add it in as a new item. Got in game, found the item where I placed it, put it on but its invisible. Im pretty sure I skipped a step somewhere, any ideas on what i missed? Thanks!! SerpentofShadow
If those are your exact steps you might have forgot to link a texture to the mesh.

If you didn't use Nifscope in the process of taking a current armor mesh, and replacing it with your own then chances are that if it was visable, it would probably crash the game the moment you put it on, or got hit with it. Nifscope is also needed to make sure the textures are added correctly. I would point you to a tutorial on how to do this right, but to my knowledge, it doesn't exist yet. The fact that only 2 or 3 people have successfully added in new armor/clothing meshes doesn't help things either.
Lodgren
Those are basically the exact steps yeah. Im using a current model that function in game(The upper section of Eshmes body v2.0) so I guess I don't see why there should be any missing textures in the bulk of it(I see that maybe the areas I added would be invisible, but why the whole body?) I'll keep messing around with it, but if anyone has anything more to add, would appreciate it! Also, I used 3ds to modify the original body file then exported it into a .nif file through 3ds. Ive not really messed with nifskope much, but I tried to add in some textures and such with no luck.
