slayer418
Well, I'm trying to do Fallout runs the much better and the much nicer it can on my 8800GT and I just noticed that there had a trouble with grass shadows, they dont appears on the ground (they dont appears simply). I can add that "bShadowsOnGrass" and "bActorSelfShadowing" in FalloutPrefs.ini are set to 1.
ecksile
The planks aren't casting shadows. The game's lighting passes through objects without interacting there is no shadow support in Fallout. AFAIK the ONLY thing that actually casts any shadow are actors, and I dont even think those are real shadows they are simply simulated...Idk if creatures do I cant member. slayer418
I'm using ENBSERIES's d3d9.dll and it add shadows casting to the Game (well I think, look the attached images comparing with ENBSeries and without it).
ecksile
AFAIK All it does is edit the shaders making things look darker at least from what I've seen. In the screen shot there is no shadow being casted the texture is simply darker because of the shaders handling the lighting. Because no light is interacting with the object the texture looks darker on 1 side but the object itself isn't actually interacting with the light and casting a shadow. The plugin is just interacting with the lighting already integrated within the games textures making dark things look darker and light things look lighter. Its a simulated shadow but its not real shadow casting. I haven't used the mod myself but I dont think its powerful enough to create, calculate, and handle real shadows. Is that what you were you talking about or am I way off?
slayer418
Yeah you're talking about the good thing but, look to this image, this is shadows like that I want.http://i52.tinypic.com/bxy5w.jpg
ecksile
That is just a screen shot no one has been able to pin point the source of the screen shot whether it was a mod or just someone manipulating the image in photoshop. But AFAIK there isn't a plugin that can do shadow casting yet. I as well as a couple other people have analyzed that photo and some things just dont match up. It doesn't mean it isn't real but until a plugin is released that proves it, I wouldn't count on it being real. It takes more then shader replacement to make static lighting into dynamic lighting. slayer418
Oh well, thanks you for answering me dude, I hope to have Dynamic Shadows implemented someday in Fallout and I don't think this image is photoshoped 'cause this looks so much real as whether it had always been built in the game. slayer418
EnableOcclusion in the ENBSeries.ini is set to 1 and UseAmbientOcclusion too.
Davidid
EnableOcclusion in the ENBSeries.ini is set to 1 and UseAmbientOcclusion too. Use only the ao option from the nvidia control panel without the enbseries.ini:)!
