villero
So how gome nobady is making horse mod for new vegas. What do you think?I would if i could, but dont hawe time or know how.Sorry if misspelling, its not my language
cdubblin
i COULD NOT AGREE MORE. Awesome idea and I have been wondering that for way to long. I'm sure its outta the ordinary league of moders. I would seriouslt donate money to the first person to make a Dravable car/truck/tank/bus/horse/bike and im sure others would aswell.
devinpatterson
I'v been hoping for the same thing. I'v asked for Illyism's rideable creatures script. I'v PM'd him, and asked on fallout3nexus rideable thread and still no response (been about a month or more). But if we had that and a good rigger for the skeleton I think we would have horses. bben46
This is about the 20th thread on ridable stuff for FONV Horse, motorcycle, even a request for a ridable deathclaw. It's actually a fairly difficult technical problem. Besides there being no suitable skeleton to build a horse on, Obsidian did not give us any animations for this. Animations for getting onto a ride, getting off of a ride or sitting on a ride. Then you have to somehow lock the rider to the ride so they move together - imagine - with no lock, as soon as you hit 'W' to move forward, the PC goes over the horse's head and onto the road. Or, the horse moves out from under and the rider is dumped onto the road. Then you need moving animations for the ride. Idle animations if it is a creature (Unless you want your horse to look like a statue) An AI if it is a creature. And a complete new control set to drive the ride. So, not quite as simple as it looks. Hopefully someone can accomplish it, but I'm not holding my breath.
Floatsup
The ridable deathclaw cracks me up though. Spot on there ben. I think for something like that someone would have to get paid to create. I don;t think your gonna see something like that in the game. At least not this version. Thats the other rub. By the time you finished it, and new version would be out, and who knows what engine would come out then. Imagine spending like year to do that by yourself, only to find out the day you released it, here comes notice that Fallout Kansas is coming out next week, and everything you did won;t port over. Oh man, talk about kicking the mouse out the window. Anyway great concept, but very difficult to implement. Actually extremely. For me thats so far out of my reach, be like trying to fly with my arms without ~ tcl

devinpatterson
Illyism gave me permission to port his mod and a ridable brahmin is up at;http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40897It only works in first person view though. Invalidfate's remake of J3XMotorcycle works well. You can really cruise around the wasteland, great mod, it's at;http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40645

I guess the project page for it will go up tomorrow night. I don´t have time to do any modding for the moment as I am quite busy with my own project. I am however happy to assist with suggestion and help you with advice and answering the scripting questions I can.
