idontknowwhattocallme
I recently upgraded from my AGP system with a X1600Pro 512MB(DDRII) graphic card, to a PCI-E system with X850XT 256MB(GDDR3).I used shaja's texture mod (4096x) and it worked fine. I tried to use that mod with this card, without success.. In the readme file, it stands that the mod will NOT work with X600, X700 or X800 cards - but i got a X850-series card?Anyway, i tried the other mod with 2048x instead, and it didn't work either. The texture still looks ugly and blurry. Its kind a strange, since this card still is a very fast card (runs Oblivion at High with 45+ fps)What could be wrong? I have tried hours without success... Thanks for any help!

Thanks for any help! Don't you mean downgrade? the x850 has less memory than your previous card... If you had 2 of them and were linking them or something I could maybe understand, but I think you were better off with the X1600pro. Anyway, do you have antialiasing on? That could be one big reason why textures are all blurry.

It gives Oblivion a much better look.Yes, this card has less memory, but it isn't just how much memory the graphic card has that is the problem. This card is way better than the X1600 anyway, it got less memory, but faster memory, more pipelines, a faster gpu etc etc..

Yes, but I suspect that memory, or atleast the architecture, was needed to handle textures that size properly. It could be that antialiasing thing as well. If you have that on, either in game, or through the videocard's software, it could cause everything to become blurry.
