Better Cities & Unique Landscapes

the only thing that keeps me from using both is that I'm concerned with how compatible they are with quest mods. I've already played through the main story line once, thats why my second playthrough is dedicated to custom quests only.

is it advisible to use BC and UL with more and less popular quest mods?

has anybody experienced incompatibilites with certain quests and/or general problems while running both mods?

also, is there some kind of a frequently updated list which keeps track of what mods work well together with BC and UL and most importantly which mods don't?

and will I experience problems if I don't start a new game and just keep playing with my current save?

thanks in advance!

Most major quest mods are usually compatible with both BC and UL. If they are not immediately compatible there is a good chance that either the UL team or the mod author made a patch. There are tons of patches available. Check the documentation for the quest mod when you download it, most of the time there is a compatibility section. Other than that you really just have to try it and see. If a mod adds a dungeon entrance or a building in a place that UL alters you may have some issues, you may not. Again, trial and error.

If you do run into problems I suggest reporting them to the mod author first, then the UL team. Usually if the mod is worth having the one or the other will make a compatibility patch. Since UL is such a huge and very popular mod, both the UL team and other authors strive for compatibility. So just make them aware of any issue.

We (Better Cities team) have included several compatibility patches with BC for popular (and some less well-known) mods which conflicted with BC, so there's a good chance you'll be find a patch for most quest mods which conflict.

I have also been the primary compatibility patcher for Unique Landscapes for almost three years now, you can find all my patches plus some by others here.
