Pluralitas Posted February 15, 2015 Share Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Seeing how the arc rifle is getting some changes in b15, which changes it to an engineer only weapon. How about making it a dedicated stun weapon for capturing with an engineer? The default arc rifle will have the disabling shot and whatever the arc rifle can do(damage of offensive shots can be balanced). ++Having done the "Advanced arc thrower" foundry project, the arc rifle can gain stun charges for captures(the amount can be be adjusted for balance reasons(2 charges default?) and having "repair" (can?) increases the charges). Obviously the arc thrower with the foundry project done should have a higher chance of capture than the arc rifle. Now CMDRs can equip engineers with a arc rifle/arch thrower setup for a capture mission with quite a few stun charges, making it more worth purchasing the arc rifle, be it for its disabling shot for tough missions, or more stun charges for a light mission. The stun range can be longer than the arc thrower (5 tiles)?? if not game-breaking, for setting up to stun dangerous enemies with lower risk etc, but not necessary as the arc thrower range is already quite nice....
