OniDaimyo
The guide I posted above should help you understand the basics of installing mods. Other than that there might be a problem with the mesh in the mod itself. Check the mod's comment page and see if someone else is having the same problem or PM the mod's author. It doesn't help at all and noone complained about the error I am having. I don't get why it's not working for me. I wish I knew how to use the GECK because I have great ideas that I don't see anyone else doing so far.
OniDaimyo
Figured it out finally. Needed to take the folders from this mod that were labeled "meshes" and "textures" and take them out of the mod folder and put those folders directly into the data folder. Everything works now including another mod that adds ninja stars and kunai as throwing weapons. So I'm fairly ninja'ed out now with the Chinese Stealth armor. I'd love a stealth armor with no helmet OR a simple reskin of the stealth armor to look like ninja clothes.
matrxhasyou1983
There is an easier way to get your files in the right place (multitudes of ways). If windows gave you a prompt asking if you wanted to merge folders, the [Yes] button should be clicked. This is the way I do it: 1. Open a folder to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\fallout new vegas 2. Open the archive that contains the desired mod in another window (so you have them side by side) 3. Drag everything in the mod's Data folder (minus readmes and screenshots) onto your game's Data folder 4. Windows will prompt you to choose whether you want to merge the folders or not. Hit [Yes] 5. Open the game launcher 6. click Data Files 7. Check the box next to the mod you want to run. 8. Eat tacos (optional) I know you figured it all out, just posting in case others were watching this thread and needed more guidance. Good Luck! I just wish I knew what the items number was for the console commands so I can just give it to myself. I also wish the guy had said what you need to repair the sword with. GhostlyTime
I'm also having this problem as well. I have several mods I'm trying to get to work. I'd unzip everything, take all the files in the texture, meshes, etc and put them into the Data folder. They come up the the New Vegas data files, but weapons still come up as "!' and armor is invisible. I'm obviously still doing something wrong. :wallbash:
