Confused with modding

Ermmm... Mod Organizer ("MO") is designed for, and only works with, Bethesda Software's TES and Fallout games.

And the Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) referenced by FrozonedIvy above won't help either. "Assassin Armor and Rapiers" requires that the ARE folder be placed in a non-standard location, and "NBaio" requires the use of the DAO-ModManager ("DAMM") which is the only way to handle any mod packaged as a ".override" file.

As for getting "notepad" instead of folders, you're doing something wrong...

What browser are you using? (Some try to "help" by renaming the extension of files of a type they think they recognize.)

But in any case, both "NBaio" and "Assassin Armor and Rapiers" are packaged as ".7z" files.

So you'll need an application (like "7-zip") that can properly extract them from their compressed download archives.
