Puckstopper Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 FOMM LIST BELOW Still crashes whenever I try to go inside of towns or buildings. I do not know what is causing these problems, I re downloaded all of my mods, uninstalled then reinstalled once again, and I'm only using 6 of the mods I have just to test it. I even tried to deactivate Windows Live in game so it wouldn't f*** me up. I bought this game on steam, so if that is the problem, PLEASE TELL ME so I can go buy retail and have this f***ing game work. I am raging hard over this.

WastelandAssassin Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 well, doing a master update is really easy, to tell the truththe reason why you should read the manual, is to prevent yourself of doing something that could ruin your game, as this program allows you to actually edit the mods you have basically, for doing a master update, find the FO3Edit exe file (called FO3Edit.exe )then make a copy of the file, and change it's name to FO3MasterUpdate.exethen all you have to do is run this fileif all goes well, it should tell you that everything is ok, and you can just quit it and enjoy the gameif it reports a problem, then try to solve it (it usually gives a good description of the problem, so it helps fixing it) also note that after any time you change your load order, you will need to run a Master Update again, but this is a small price to pay for the game running smoothly with mods :)
WastelandAssassin Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 what the hell are those filters??i've never messed up with FO3Edit, i just used it as it is (which worked great) just try the master updatetrust me, sometimes simple is best
Puckstopper Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 and finally, end results of conflict search
WastelandAssassin Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 i don't think it is a conflict problemmany people have reported save problems with modded FO3the only solution i recall is a master update......then again, haven't played the game in a while, so there might be other solutionsstill, go safe and simple :)

WastelandAssassin Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 yesyou see, it will start writing lots of stuff, really fastyou don't have to read it, it is basically converting all your folders into a better organized way (not sure how to explain it, as i can't really recall what it does, since i didn't use it in a long while, and don't worry, it's simple and safe) now, in the end, you will see that no new lines are writtenif in the last lines it says something like ok, you can close the program, then it is all ok, and should work better now if, however, it reports a problem (you will see that it stops the process and tells you what the problem is) then you should try to fix the problem it is reporting (stuff like missing master or such, not really hard to fix issues) run until you get an all clear, and that's it :)
