I disagree about seizing the fort. The brother hood has a bunker already. If anything they would have expanded their complex and fortified their bunkers perimeter first.

Can you quote who you were replying to, in regard to seizing the fort.....it would make it easier to respond knowing the exact context. Without it, I'm going to reply in general terms re the fort.

 

The most powerful military asset for this BOS ending is the securitrons. Without them, the BOS stays a minor faction. The securitron vault is in the fort, it would be essential to guard it's repair and production facilities.

 

But even if it wasn't hiding the vault, the fort is a bulwark against invasion from the north...and can be a important line of defense to protect Hoover.

 

 

Then I think depending on what the scribes found in the mohave tech wise would be what they focused on next. For example, the trains.

I think I covered that in response to your last post on it

 

The next target would be communications on black mountain if its not their first priority.

Search the thread and you'll see some ideas I had for Black mountain (as a way to jam the securitron wireless network in that area, and how your opponents can utilize it).

 

I think that the dam would be the last target in the mohave.

Since two of the most powerful factions in the southwest are fighting over Hoover, I suspect it ranks higher in importance than you give it credit for.

I haven't had time to do jack on any big projects (which is why the topic was inactive since may of 2016, until your post). I'd like to get back to it, but it's always a question of time.

 

Even if I'm unable to do anything on the main mod itself I'd like to get at least one asset out;

I think a squad or platoon of ghost people BOS in power armor would be great fun/terrifying, special encounter for DM

Same concept as the hazmat suits (seals failed, and the power armor corroded to the point that it could not be removed, etc). I just need to dirty up the textures, and add some higher tech weapons that use the ghost peoples animations (or add some). I'm not sure what will suffice for high tech spear, maybe a thermic lance, but a balistic fist or power fist might make a good replacement for the beartrap fists.

I know this thread is old, but I really like your ideas. If I had any clue about modding, I would help you. Hopefully this project will get some attention in the future, maybe I will be able to do it (when I have the time to learn proper skills). Anyway nice concept!

Thanks SRX33, but there's no reason to wait. Lets hammer out at least a basic outline and get started on it. I don't forsee any show stoppers (I think I have a enough knowledge to bumble through). It's not nearly as much work to alter the faction quest as it would be for creating a whole new one (because it basicly hijacks the majority of the independent new vegas quest).

There's some basic questions like;

At what point does the player turn completely and irrecoverably against house (making his/her subterfuge obvious).

What additional quests (if any) are required to cement the BOS's and the players merged fates (maybe the dead money mission with the ghost paladins)

What missions will be required to ursurp control from the lucky 38's mainframe (or co-opt it) to guarantee possession of the securitrons.

 

What's your thoughts SRX33?
