justwantadownload311
Very new at modding - got the making new perks down I think. I did some searches online (both here and in general) and found that images need to be converted to .dds files. I got an image converter X2Y - and was able to convert the image from .bmp to .dds but when in the game a big blue box appears where the image should have been. I did some searches - couldn't find a good answer though could be that I'm just too wet still to know exactly the best search to get an answer. Exzodium
I hear you bro, I have been looking for articles on the same thing, and most of them are crap articles that don't even explain where you need to place said DDs files or how they operate. I have been trying to add custom perk icons, but the geck won't open the DDS file (Invalid Directory) and I don't know what to do. Some one said I need to place them with the other icons, but you know I don't know where the hell those are. There needs to be a full blown tutorial on how to do this, I don't mean the crappy xp user tutorials that I see around here, because none of them tell you where to put the DDs files let alone what to do if you have gimp or paint.net. simplywayne90
While I don't know the answer myself, I've recently made a new thread for modding beginners and posted links to questions like this with good answers, as well as tutorials in the Nexus Articles I'll post a link to the thread and I'll do a quick search on techniques to make vault boy pictures, or you can use some old perk pics from the classic fallouts, (1, 2, and Tactics) Heres The linkHow To Become A Modder Hope you make some great perks! Oh also try messaging some of the other perk mod makers, they may give you advice on things you might need to know and save you some future trouble.
