weregamer1
Everything I've been able to find seems to assume that the reader already knows all about body mods, such as "type 3 dimonized", and how they interact with clothing mods. I have some basic questions about what is going on here. I think my questions boil down to something like this set: Are these mods simple .esms that one installs normally, or are they more complex/intrusive/dangerous to install? What is the immediate effect of installing, say, the Type3 mod? Does it just allow for a new "race" choice for PCs? Replace all female models in the game seamlessly? Replace all female models and make their clothes clip wrong unless one also installs a clothing mod? What happens if one installs a clothing mod without the corresponding body mod? Clothes that look bad, load error on games, CTD? What happens to an existing savegame when loaded with one or both of these types of mod installed? WastelandAssassin
ok, good question, and rather easy to answer (my favorite type :)) a body mod changes the model of the body, in both meshes and textureseach body mod is different in style, but the effect is the samewhen you load the game with one of these mods, any NPC that uses the model you installed (let's say you installed Type 3, then all females) will now use this body (ghouls use a different body, if i recall, so they won't have the same clear nude body) now, the reason why mods are compatible with specific body types, is because these clothings use the same textures as the body type, so it looks natural (rather than having two different textures, which could look horrible) and no, these do not add a new race, these mods change the models of the "human" races, to the model you are installing if the body mod comes without a plugin (esp or esm file) then there shouldn't be any problem like CTDsof course, modding the game will create CTDs and such, and there is no real way around that (just ways to make it happen less and such) i hope this answers your questionsif you have any more, or want something clarified, just ask, and i'll reply :)
weregamer1
OK. So these mods don't install the usual way, then, with a file you turn on in "data files" or NVMM, then - they just override (or overwrite?) some data files?
WastelandAssassin
it really depends on the modsome don't come with plugin files, so you just put the folders in your data folder and overridehowever, there are mods that do come with pluginsit is usually if you have a selection of bodies to choose from if you want one for NV, i can tell you that this one is easy to install, and the quality is great (i saw in the game, and it works great)and it doesn't use any plugin files :) anything else needs clarifications??
