How do i actually make a mod active in the game?!?!

I am having a problem with the G.E.C.K. The problem is that i changed the stats of a weapon in a mod i downloaded and i changed the appearance of cass, i saved the mods i made, turned them on, but.... THEY WONT SHOW UP IN THE GAME, its like my changes dont even exist

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated

You say the weapon was from a mod? Make sure that in the G.E.C.K. you select whatever mod it is as the active file when you load it.

What about when i change the appearance of Cass? do i also set the date file for New Vegas as active as well?

And do i basically have to remake the mods again? thanks again

1. Please elaborate, I don't understand that one entirely

2. Nope just the mod that you're editing, you can only select one at a time anyways. They both need to be turned on, but only the mod needs to be set to [active file].

3. No, just go to the weapon you want to modify, do your stuff, and then save the mod. It shouldn't create a new one, just edit the original.

firstly, thank you, i got the weapon working

 

and i made two different mods, the one with the weapon, which is resolved thanks to your assistance, and i made another one, i changed cass's look by removing the hat and changing the face and hair a little, but my mod doesnt take effect in the game
