ok, got yer email still!

I'll see about scaling and setting in up for use with nifskope.

now, do I need to add the scope, silencer, etc. as separate files? or what?

if you have gmax installed, I can send the source files.

thanks,

Jon

whenever you want to send the files, they will be welcome

it might take me some time to create the weapon in NifSkope, and then in the GECK (if you also want that) and fully test that everything is in place, but i will do my best to finish this as soon as i can :)

well, if you want to make weapon mods available, then they must have their own model

which means that if you want the normal weapon to have no scope, and the scope be a mod, then you need to make the normal version without the scope, then another model with the scope

on another, you need to create a model for every combination of mods, so if you have an extended magazine, scope and silencer mods, you will need 8 different models, plus the original (without the mods)

you should consider all of those things, and decide how you want this to go

i'm afraid i don't have G-Max, so i probably won't be able to to open the sources

whenever you feel that you are ready, and have made whatever you need, you are welcome to send this my way

i will do my best to make the best of this

I have 3DS Max, which I'm pretty sure could open G-Max files. I'll have a go at them if you don't mind....

Also, WastelandAssassin, didn't you say the other day that you didn't know how to mod? I'm pretty sure this goes beyond just NifSkoping, you'll also need to take into account the appropriate scalings, etc.

you remembered correctly, i do not know how to do this (at least for now)

however, the fact that i don't know how to do this now, doesn't mean that i am not capable of learning

the whole point of this for me is to help, and also learn how to use these tools

after all, if i won't try it, i will never learn, right??

Nah, it's a lot more complicated than that, WastelandAssassin, getting something from different 3D types take quite a long time to get used to; it's near impossible to just 'learn' it when there are plenty of other stuff that you can learn from.

Funny though, at the opportunity of this rifle, you jump to learn how to mod, yet you never bothered to in the past. Strange.............

that's not true (the last part, that is)

i can't recall another time when someone needed his item worked in NifSkope

people release resources, but these are already done in NifSkope, and just need to be used in the game

and since i never learned how to model using any of the 3D modeling programs, i never had any model to make in NifSkope

so it's basically my first real opportunity to learn this

listen, if you want to take on this project, all you have to do is ask

you don't need to show that you are more skilled than i am, or something like that

i have only volunteered to help, but it doesn't mean that i will be the one chosen to take on this project

so if you want to do it, just ask, and if you will receive it, then good for you

no hard feelings or anything

i was just trying to help and learn, that's all

I appreciate everyone's help.

I will send the files to dazzerfong due to the fact that he seems to know how to do the work and could get things

rolling a lot faster.

I've already lost interest in the game for the most part but because I made this just for fallout, I feel that I should

at least release it for fallout.

NO disrespect intended WastelandAssassin.
