Hello all, thank you for taking the time to read my post!

I recently got a new comptuer and have started to mod skyrim but ive hit a wall, I keep getting ctds and im pretty sure its all due to memory problems.

So I installed Enb Series and Enb Boost , also edited my skse ini for the memory pools , but alas no go.

i never had these problems on my old computer which was a potato , and i think i was even running more mods before

Everytime I try to fast travel to Markarth with the carriage outside of Windhelm it will crash to desktop at the loading screen , ive also got the safely load mod but it still hasnt fixed my problem.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

My Specs are

i5 4690k at 3.5

16gb gskill rip jaw at 1866

asus maximus hero vii

msi gtx 970 4g

and here is my load order!

It could be Sounds of Skyrim or some of your Climates of Tamriel patches. I've had issues using the CoT patches and just stuck with the main file. Try disabling or uninstalling those and see if that works for you. If not, have you ran LOOT or BOSS to set your load order? Cleaned dirty edits? Run SMCO or Optimizer Textures? Cleaned your save?

EDIT:

I second this

Hm, i think your problem is ocs. i had hard laggs with it and the newest version 1.1.1 is sitll buggy (like in rifton, check all city gates). add the mod "skyrim project optimizion". that would may help. also check if you've configured your enblocal.ini (may post it here). if i were you i would remove ocs, but before you remove it clean your masterfiles with tes5edit (google: clean masterfile goopher youtube)

Hey guys thanks for the quick replies!

I have used loot and I just cleaned my masterfiles!

I ran the game but it still crashed trying to fast travel to markarth, but the good news is after I uninstalled OCS it didnt crash!

So everything seems to be going well!

...but I still am noticing that some textures will take awhile to load, windhelm for example, the bridges textures dont load until im a few feet away from them.

Is that normal?

Thanks again !

With your specs, I would say no. I have 970 too and I've only had texture issues like that when my INI settings weren't right or I had a texture mod messing up. I'm going to assume you're running SKSE to run your game? If that's the case, are you using SSME with it? Make sure your uGirdsToLoad in your SkyrimPrefs.ini are set to a max of 5. Try using these 2 tools; Optimizer Textures and SMCO. They will unify/compress/optimizer your textures. That might fix it. Use the Save Script Cleaner tool too to clean out any left over scripts that could be causing problems too. Also, as 9Strike said, use Skyrim Project Optimization. Another note, in your enblocal.ini, make sure your memory sizes are right. The limit is 10240 for your ram+vram-1024

Hey duffman thanks again for your reply.

Yes. im using skse, i just got SSME , ive used SMCO and also got SPO, but its still the same.

I noticied in my Skrimprefsini that I dont see the line "uGirdsToLoad."

Any ideas why that is?

Maybe thats my issue, ill check my "enblocalini" right now.

Heres the ini

ugrids is in skyrim.ini and you don't need to mess with that at all.

change the line UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false

to true but this will disable all ENB graphical effects.

Also lower the VideoMemorySizeMb=18432

that is a ridiculous value :P set it to 4096

I'd also boot of sounds of skyrim and get some order in your load order  It's a mess...

Hey vlaka, thanks for the reply.

The thing is I want to keep the enb effects, and I know my system is more than capable of handling them, that's what makes this all so frustrating .

Haha

I'll toss SOS , also I've used loot to manage my load order.

Is loot known to make mistakes once in awhie?

I'll lower the memory size, I have 16gb Ram and 4096mb of vram on my video card, is the number you recommended appropriate for my hardware?
