Blam! Zap! Revamp

What is this!?

Blam! Zap! Revamp (BZR) is a mod focusing on Guns and Energy Weapons, Big and Small. The goal of BZR is to create a balanced weapons system without these dreaded "tier-esque" constructions of Obsidian. It also brings back many weapons from Fallout 3, thanks to the tons of resources left in.

Why was this made!?

Simple: Have you noticed how weapon types (ie. Pistol, SMG) are designed in a system similar to tiers found in many RPGs? The only difference with this is that instead of "Iron->Steel->Mithril", etc., we have "9mm Pistol->10mm Pistol->12.7mm Pistol" which, while each level of weapon has their own advantages and disadvantages, it's pretty obvious which ones you'll be sticking with near endgame.

So, you could say that this mod is made to balance out all ranged weapons to a state where weapon choice is based more on preference and style than logic and design. In this, it is in a way similar to Fallout 1, 2 and 3. Of course, there will still be weapons that are mostly useless except in the beginning, to give a sense of progress while leveling up, thereby avoiding simple stagnation and making a happy balance.

All in all, this should create a much more fluid, fun and functional experience with weapons.

What have you done!?

Why did you make this thread!?

Easy! While I can go along all fine and dandy by myself, for some things I'll need a little touch from the community. There are currently two things I need:

1. Railway Rifle sounds! I can't take the stuff from Fallout 3, and the firing sounds are pretty much the only two things not left in. I need someone to make some sounds that are as similar to the original as possible, or find someone who has done similar already.

2. Feedback! I can do a little balance on my own by being frustrated at stuff in the game, but to do a much better job I'll need people to tell me what they think needs changes. One person can't speak for every person, after all. Just tell me what, in your experiences, was unbalanced or needs to be changed. I'll be sure to fix it up.

And there you have it.
