Since I posted this idea on the Vulpes and Benny thread I thought I'd post it here as well to be fair.

 

Anyways awhile back, I started a thread for custom companion ideas (By that I mean new people, so we don't mention Benny, Yes Man, Ghost or Vulpes since they've already got threads like this.)

 

Anyways for that thread we have a guideline to avoid 500 copies of "I want a Legion companion" or "I CAN HAZ BENNY PLZZZ!!!!"as an entire post. So that way people can actually post interesting and inspiring ideas

 

Heres the original post with some editing.

 

--------------------Suggested Guideline For Future Ranger Ghost Ideas--------------------

 

So when you post please try to follow this example so that people will actually read because it will then be interesting.

 

• 
   
  
• Name (What her real name should be)
  
• Appearance (We all know how she looks, so you can skip this, however some improvements could be made)
  
• Backstory (Very important, don't post if your character is supposed to just suddenly appear and help the courier who is likely a complete stranger)
  
• How do you get her to Travel with you?, How does she fight?, and What factions she'd like besides NCR, etc.
  

 

And then random ideas like Quests for her, Dialog, Banter with other companions or comments on locations, Companion Perk ideas, etc.

 

It's just an idea, you can ignore it if you don't like it but I felt it'd help make Ghost more detailed.

Stealth Boys last 2x longer

 

Spooky

Enemies are 20% more likely to flee

 

Professional Camper

Accuracy in VATS is increased 20% while crouching and Hidden

 

Scoped

VATS target distance is increased while crouching and using a scoped weapon

 

Spectre of War (After Anti-Materiel rifle gift)

Ghost targets any enemy you target in VATS, ala Miss Fortune/Stranger

Able to craft Campfire items through dialogue?

Possible Reqs for obtaining Ghost:

Must have 'Accepted' standing with NCR or higher (Will leave if drops below 'accepted')

Must have 'Vilified' standing with Legion or lower (Will leave if raises to 'accepted' or higher)

Ghost must have info about Nipton

PC must have Sneak Skill>30 "If I'm heading out into the deserts with anyone, it won't be you- with clank-feet like yours we'll both be sitting ducks."

PC must have Gun Skill>30 "You don't look like you could hit the broad side of a fatty in a Vault elevator. I think I've got enough to think about in a firefight without worrying about friendly fire."

 

 

Possible comment moments:

Indoors/Vault: "Cramped spaces, poor lighting, corners, multiple entrances- this is a f***ing nightmare for tactics."

Outdoors: "The only thing missing is that 'fresh air' pre-war books talk about."

High Altitude: "Hey, I think I can see Ceasar's tent from here!"

I would say its because she has very limited lines and everyone these days wants voice to be a requirement for a companion.

Per the wiki the same actress does the voices for

 

Mags, Lieutenant Haggerty, Christina Morales, Private Ortega, Ranger Ghost, Sergeant Reyes, Ranger Lineholm, Captain Gilles, Marie Pappas, Raquel, Jacklyn, Liza O'Malley, Doctor Alvarez, and other additional voices

 

So you should have some lines to choose from.

That is a good selection, but Ghost has such a distinct personality might be harder to match up things to. I did always think Ghost was pretty interesting, if I had to pick a female that I felt could/should have been a companion it would have been her.

Yeah me and Apocalyptic Girl were going to make her, (here is a link to the old thread), but AG never had a chance to do the lines, and then Lonesome road completely NV for her. So she's taking a permanent(?) break from new vegas.

 

Of course if I knew then, what a pain in the as* a full companion (with wheel, companion quest etc) entailed I probably wouldn't have volunteered. But I just can't see having her, if she' not fully voiced. I guess if there are a lot of voice files in the game, that's a possibility, but really a voice actress is the way to go. I asked Isabelle and will ask Maryberry to do voice sample. But their voices are so different from ghosts, that I'm not optimistic.

 

But if we can find the audio for her, I'd be willing to put it together.
