darkgreenme
Short and simple. Using Fallout NV Mod Manager to script in mods. I've tried several weapons/clothing item mods. Some seem to work fine, others when loaded in appear to be missing graphics (I get the big red halo with an x through it in game). I'll admit, I'm mod retarded. Specific things I'm struggling to implement are backpacks, and Weapon Mods requiring new scopes etc. Any help appriciated.
WastelandAssassin
as far as i know, this sign is for missing meshes (at least, that is how it looked for Fallout 3)so the mods that you installed and aren't working, you just didn't install as you should have (or so it seems)try to re-install these mods, and follow the instructions, and it should solve the problem and what do you mean by using the mod manager to script in mods?? I'm using Fallout Mod Manager or Butcher Pete's Mod Manager. I usually install my mods in a different folder, link those programs to that folder and use them to inject it into the game. I've used a similar tactic for other games to prevent crashes etc.
WastelandAssassin
well, unless what you said is that you make FOMODs of the mods, then i don't understand what you did (but it's not what matter)maybe there is a problem with this way of installing, or there was something wrong in the folder of the mod you useanyhow, try another install of it, and see if it solves itor just open the folder of the mod, and manually place the meshes in the games' directory
darkgreenme
No, I'm not making FOMODS out of things. Lets take something a tad simpler. The M14 Mod. I've unzipped into a file (located with the mod manager) Under file name "M14". I've used mod manager's create package from folder. It shows up, I ensure the mod is enabled from both the manager and the startup screen. Same problem, big red halo w/ exclamation point (I'm assuming this means graphic error). I've tried dropping the files into the "data" folder, same issue. I've coppied and overwritten all items, and screwed around with FNV so much I've reinstalled twice today. I pretty much just give up. TBH, need a good guide on how to install and troubleshoot this stuff. Nothing around really. I'm quite sure the problem exists between user and keyboard. WastelandAssassin
wait, i think i know what the problem isit happens to all new content, right??if so, maybe you didn't use Archive Invalidation??it's a long shot, but it might just be your problemthere are many ways to do it, but if you load the game through FOMM, then use FOMM's ArchiveInvalidation option, and it should solve your problem (if that is really the problem)
darkgreenme
Gave it a shot, and experimented a bit. Still not getting textures ingame. I may be cursed. On a side note, any plain .esp files I put in (for example a perks mod) works fine. And the Advanced Ranger Stealth Armor kit installed flawlessly. I'm thinking it's boiling down to mods with a lot of .nif and .dds files not loading appropriately. I'll give it a few more shots today. On a side note, is it normal not to be able to access the main texture/mesh directories in NV Data folder?

On a side note, is it normal not to be able to access the main texture/mesh directories in NV Data folder? No, you should be able to access the directories in your Data folder easily. Have you tried giving yourself administrator rights, or making sure that you haven't accidentally locked the folders? Usually if you can't access a folder it's some sort of Administrator Rights problem.
darkgreenme
Alrighty. At work this weekend, but going to try to Completely remove all related items on my PC. Give them a fresh reinstall in the morning. The Texture, Mesh etc. folders in my data filed were turned into FOMOD files for some reason. I'll see what happens tommorow after starting anew. Either way, I really appriciate the help and responses from snap and wastelandassasin. Thanks for the quick responses and helping the mod-challenged.
