dr3amcatcher
I always wandered why the game engine allows to shoot the limbs off only if the enemy is dead, while it would be more realistic and strategic to make an enemy incapable of walking or using any weapons just shooting an arm or a leg off. There are plenty of close combat weapons that can cripple limbs easily but have relatively small damage, so what's the point then?I know the whole thing sounds a bit awkward but still I am curious if the game engine allows alive NPC's to have some limbs off (of course, dying in minutes/hours after losing them). MMM had amputated limbs on ghouls, so its technically possible, however, chances are if your arm got chopped off, you'd probably drop the the ground shortly after. Making Grounded but alive enemies (like in Assasins Creed 2) would be more difficult

MrLamar
Possibly, the NPC has a few parts of the body that will be somehow marked as "unused bodyparts" and if shot at with a high power gun, can bew blown off of the enemy but still allow them to fight? dr3amcatcher
Actually I came up with this idea when I met Benny in Caesar's camp and decided to cut his hands off before freeing him so that he won't be able shoot me again in future. But bastard has died during the procedure wtf. So you want to fight the Black Knight? Running away you chickin'?!
