The little I tested all snail slow mo in the strip and in one of the White Glow Members scenery quest part is now completely removed!

"Like it was meant to be" hum... a sentence out of it's concept :-) ,NICE Bethesda!

Also seems to include a lot of fixes for quests, graphics issues and companions and so on, have not seen that in game yet.

A heads up about the patch. It requires you to use unchanged .ini files.. so, from my limited understanding of whats going on, it seems to be killing mods that require archive invalidation? The game simply won't load.

Oh yeah. It's Great. Steam downloaded it and now the stupid game will not launch at all. Well it launched briefly and I found my body mods were broken as usual, I did the necessary to fix and tried to relaunch the game, and it won't launch. Epic fail.

You need to, it worked for me anyway, go into

steam->games->fallout 3 nv->properties->local files and verify the integrity of the local cache.

However.. all that does is remove the changed .ini files and replaces them with defaults. So while the game will run, anything that requires access to changed archive files.. eg. skins, clothes, weapons, huds, etc. Won't be able to acess them, so reverts to the generic bulls***. I'm at a loss on how to get around that without having to manually edit the .txt files.

And no, changing the new .ini files will do nothing at all, causes the same problem.

This is inexcusable. I had automatic updates turned off since release and then two days ago I turned it back on and forgot to de-activate it, now my game is hosed when I try to run it. Why would you patch a game with a huge mod following (which ultimately makes the games worth playing) in a way that kills the mods? I've just about had it with these guys.

Yes, That is true it seems this patch is kinky about what you done to the game with mods and changing .ini files.

I did a steam "Verify Integrity of Game Cache.." and after that (and also disable most of the mods I ran) was able to start it.

Thought that was due to my poking into the game and not a general one, well sigh! So they changed parts that is no longer compatible with the mods released, that was not quite comfortable.

EDIT

I noticed Steam complained on two files, well it seems one was the default.ini file, I added the lines for DarnUI [Fonts] again and at least that is solved. Turned on most of the mods I had before, but have not seen if these are screwd yet, at least the game start now with them activated. Not sure yet on the other file that was "restored" to vanilla state, and the possible bad impact of it.

Gotta be careful with this so called patch .. I am at the point of uninstall and reinstall to old version I hope. Did all the fixes they say and still can not save the game. Initially had the bomb on starting the game, got around that by unistalling all mods .. after that all worked. So on a dare I reinstalled all the mods using and everything worked fine and could save. Went back and got all the stuff lost and was motoring along and now again can't save, nothing new added the game just refuses to save without a crash to D. When fast travel and it auto saves it doesn't bomb but the autosave didn't really occur. Shades of FO3, each save makes things worse, maybe by patch 6 all will be worked out. Oh yeah when I unload all mods again after the 2nd occurance of fail to save, I can save again and then can reapply the mods and save works but for how dang long I wonder. Something was definately hosed with this mod.

Another thing is I keep getting 1 file wrong when do the steam test ... it d/ls a fix but when ck again same thing occurs, so not fixing something with the steam prop check also.
