Sound issues....

PIP BOY... It was running fine, then I'll lose sound as far as clicks and sounds associated with interacting within that device. I've uninstalled/reinstalled....It doesn't help.

My drivers are ALL current(audio/video). Seems this problem is across the board, from what I have come across on the web,in regards to this game...bummer...

IF-----any one has a solution that works,I'm all ears and finger-tips....

I'm having issues with my sound as well. When I enter a dialog screen with any NPC or try to listen to a radio station it appears to be working except i don't hear anything from the NPC or Radio directly, but they act as if they're playing music or speaking to me as normal (lips move, dialog screen displays text, pip-boy shows the audio lines reacting to voice in typical oscilloscope manner) I can however still hear them make random comments or hear the radio if there is one close to me.

So far I've tried to disable and delete all mods that I just added.

Deleted my Sound/Music folders in my Fallout:NV/Data folder and ran Steam's file check to re-download them

that all didn't work so I then attempted to use steams "delete local files" and re-download the game but it seems to of kept all my files in the data folder exactly as they were. So I guess I'm going to try "delete local files" then go find everything and make sure it gets deleted and wait for Steam to re-download AGAIN. Oh and this wasn't an issue the other day before it upgraded to 1.1

Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am currently running the following mods:

Moddable Unique Weapons

VeronicaFix (non essential since I'm playing hardcore)

Existence 2.0

CONELRAD 640-1240

Desert Armor

Fellout w/ Greener Grass

Playthings

Enhanced Blood Textures

Beware of Girl re-texture

Type 3 Armor Pack for NV

This is exactly the same problem;of which, I have gotten in touch with Bethesda tech today(numerous times),but haven't gotten any "solution" as of yet. I would have responded sooner, had I known of your comment. I have uninstalled and re-installed,more times than I want to think about. So----except for the mods, that's about it,except when I do the validating of the game cache, I keep getting the same error: "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired"...whatever that means, because nothing happens after it states this. All Bethesda can say is...their working on ....more patches. BUT---they've got my e-mail and I hope that they fix this MAJOR problem/sound issue, very soon.

Thank you for letting me know. I tried reinstalling and deleting everything again then starting with a fresh game (no mods at all) last night but, still no luck.

Hopefully steam auto-updates soon with a solution to our problem so we can get fully immersed in the game again.

I FIXED IT!! I changed my sound settings from 5.1 surround sound to just the 2 speaker setup in my Control Panel / Sound options and now I can hear voices again in dialog and the radio plays fine. I think patch 1.1 somehow switched the dialog and radio to the rear speakers or some such nonsense (but still thinks its coming out of the front speakers?) and that is why we only hear the radio faintly in the background. This is just me making random guesses since I'm not a programmer or anything but it seems to of worked for me. Anyway I'm kinda curious if this fixes your problem as well so give it a try and let me know. Hope it helps

IT-----WORKED!!!!!! Now, to call those dudes at Bethesda tech.... I have some more info of my own;but,it's a "glitch" in their patches...and,it works out just fine----for ALL of us...playing this game.....

But, you may of found out about this on your own... Just-----keep "finishing" a quest, and you'll keep getting "rewarded"...over and over...and over, for that same quest. At least, this I found out in my last comleted quest. Check---this out,man.... We can only "max" our leveling to 30(again)----- bummer...

Keep in touch.
