RideTheCatfish
I always wanted to do this for Fallout 3, but never got around to it. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/4615/screenshot51y.png The mod I'm working on at the moment essentially expands the library of consumable skill books and magazines with generally lore-friendly cover art to boot. Some of them boost skills, some of them lower skills, some of them grant momentary perks, some of them are permanent, some of them aren't. It's far from complete, as I plan on making dozens of different books and placing them all over the place. From survival manuals to magazines, penny comics to lesbian horse stories, I'm adding in everything I can think of with seedy vintage 1950s flair and it's going pretty good so far. I've used a few of chucksteel's brilliant textures, but most of them I'm making in Photoshop. Any suggestions of things I should implement? I'm all ears. Porkenstein
CAPTAIN AMERICA +UNARMED +AGILITY because you are inspired by his heroics -PERCEPTION because you think everyone is a RED
LieutenantIDan
You could add various Pulp magazines, like let's, for example, say that This gives you + Strength and +Endurance and ups your DR to like 10, but lowers your Speech and Barter skills substantially. Or maybe you could add some classic Sci-Fi stuff, Like I, Robot. Maybe It'll give you a perk like animal friend where protectrons will appear and come to your aid for a short period or something. Just a couple ideas.
RideTheCatfish
Amazing Stories will definitely be in there, and I like the robot idea. I was thinking of implementing some magazines that permanently raise one stat while permanently lowering another. You have to make a choice, then, and think about how much you want a certain skill. LieutenantIDan
Ooh!Maybe one of them could be like an old gunslinger fiction book where your perception and one hander accuracey go up, but your sneak and... uh... Hacking skill go down.Eh? Once more, just tossing that out there.
RideTheCatfish
I do have a 'Rifle Magazine' item that gives you the effects of steady and the Commando perk for two minutes.
