random crashes on loading or transition between locations

I used search for crashing but results that came up mostly refered to fixed crashing in certain situations that happend every time. My crashes seem totally random but they are becoming so frequent I'm thinking about giving up finishing the game. It wouldnt be such a big deal if the game just crashed and I had to run it again but theres seems to be no way to restore windows function after my game freezes... no message appears, no key combination works the screen just freezes and the in-game background music plays. Keyboard seems to work judging by the LED controls but neither ctrl-alt-det, nor alt-f4 or alt-tab work. I always have to hard reset the PC which is bit too much fuss over a game and can screw my comp. Can it have anything to do with load order of mods? All i have is one gfx tweak and dozen or so item mods... Ive ran morrowind or oblivion with literaly hundred and things barely ever crashed. My comp certaintly isnt top of the line but the game doesnt stutter at all with max gfx settings. If the crashes can't be helped, is there at least some trick that would allow me to "kill" the fnv application and run it gain w/o hard PC reset?

thanks

Is the problem mostly when you open a menu or use VATS? Does the screen (before it crashes) become slightly textured with green (or whatever color your HUD is) dots?

If so, it sounds like my problem that I haven't completely found a solution for. What I did was do a vanilla reinstall, and completely wiped my video drivers, and did a reinstall of ones I heard worked decently. For a lone while I didn't have the problem again, but it recently started popping up. I think it's definitely mod related with something else.

Some good info to post in this thread is also your setup. What graphics card are you using? ram and cpu as well?

Edit: Also, I have yet to find a way to force close the game. It's always a restart, which really leads me to believe its driver failure.
