jimsippo
Just learned this myself today from this Oblivion reskinning guide. To do glow maps in GIMP just take your original texture file and make anything you want to glow in game white or grey (the lighter the shade the lighter it will glow in game) and colour everything else solid black. Save this as WhateverYourOriginalTextureIsCalled_g.dds, I don't think you need to generate mip maps for this. Next go into nifskope and load up your object. You need to add your new glowmap texture in to the line under where you have your standard texture and normalmap. Now find the relevant NiMaterialProperty block for the part your glowing (if you click on the 3D part in the main window it will be a few lines down from there) scroll down to emissive colour and change to white using the colour wheel. Screens: Save that and Bob's your uncle! Jim.
