This has surely been raised before so please refer me to the right place.

 

I won't use hints or spoilers until I have completed a game once. When I started Morrowind I had no access to the internet (Luddite household) and my many gaming friens avoided it. They could have helped with Baldur's Gate, Harry Potter and that one where funny little men with furry feet are chased by nine Scottish Widows (sorry, no one outside the UK will get that). Morrowind had a reputation of being too long.

 

I finished it unaided.

 

Then I got on to the internet - oh wow - there are others out there, I'm not the only MW nut in the world. Whoopee, wheeeee! Aagh - reach for the valium.

 

I went to UESP to get the list of quests to see if I'd missed any.

 

Of non-vampiric quests, I'd missed only one - Wulf. (My fault, I ignored the instructions I was given).

 

I had played as a vampire both as Berne and Aundae (currently going for Quarra). However I did miss the general quests because I didn't know they were there. I suppose I should have been more patient and asked around rather more.

 

Anyhow, I went back to a saved game and did them all except Marara who I'd previously caramelised. Yet despite seeing references to the Eltonbrand sword, I didn't find it. In the end I had to read the hint in detail.

 

Now am I blind? Is there something in the game which hints at or says how you get this sword? If so where and what? And if not...
