SeventyEight
II would really love to be able to give stuff to people i meet in the wasteland. Would be nice to help a wastelander and give him a waepon and ammo or a stimpack. Sort of like you do with your companions. It's also a little strange if you pickpocket someone and add something to his stuff, it gives you bad karma.. I really like the idea of helping people out in the wasteland. Or am i taking my gameplay a little too serious? :-)
JackTrenton
I'd like this too. People helping people is how we survive disasters.
Rossum
Yeah, thats one reason why I really like the Followers of the Apocalypse and the Kings in this game is because they seem to want to help everyone (though the Followers are are more medically/scientific and the Kings are a bit more martial). Actually, if there was a charity donation bin somewhere to dump off weapons, armor, or other stuff then it would be really good. Imagine, if the Kings stationed by the water well in Freeside accepted empty bottles and gave you bottles of Purified Water in return. Or rather you give them empty bottles, they fill them up, and keep the bottles in a nearby container like a fridge where people can stop by and pick them up if they need water. Or have someone who accepts weapons, armor, and ammo to send to the NCR (or other faction) to fund the war effort. Or invest in farmers who grow food or Broc Flowers and roots that are used to make stimpaks or healing powder. Maybe have several Follower Helpers located around the wasteland who act as doctors and accept charity donations. You give them various stuff like armor, weapons, chems, etc... and they keep them on hand. Then if nearby NPCs need better armor or healing then the Follower gives it to them. Actually, if a group wanted to help the people in the wasteland then it would be a matter of accepting donations like food, water, and medicine (although weapons would be good to keep them out of the hands of bad guys or possibly selling them to raise money). Then work on various projects to build new wells or grow crops or medicinal plants. Then have a central location where people can come for food, medicine, and getting jobs. I'm sure someone with crafting skills could find a way to convert all the random raider and legion armor the player gets into decent stuff like leather armor or merc armor or doctors clothes. The Courier could help out by delivering stuff. Like if the Followers have a package full of medicine they need to deliver somewhere then the player carries it to the destination while fighting off crooks who want to intercept the package (or if they are evil they open it and help themselves to the contents). svantehalldin
Great Idea SeventyEight! I really like the idea of helping people out and do a difference for the wasteland. I mew a wastelander yesterday who didn't have a weapon and armor. he got killed by a ant. Would have been nice to have given him sime stuff to help him out. Innomen
Agreed, there needs to be a general charity option. Perhaps to "buy" small amounts of reputation and experience without having to be a murderer/exterminator/gopher. At the moment there is a work-around: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42353/? It can be game-breaking if over used, but hey, single player. (Shut your mouth about "necro" this thread is my first search result for "charity" thus I am necroing because efficiency and mod that sort of accomplishes the goal.) Once you have that mod, what you can do is befriend an npc and equip them via lopsided trade. (Finally something to do with all that legion gear and prewar clothing.)
