KornRefugee
I am currently running the following mods: Advanced Party 1.3, Chantry Monk, Alley of Murders, Ancient Elven Ruins, Chantry Quest Rewards and Helm Removal.I started a new game and everything was well until i met Alistair for the first time is Ostagar. The conversation went fine but he did not appear in my party or follow me to Duncan. I could still move the story along though and everytime he had dialogue in a cut scene he is invisible and he doesn't appear in my party. So i did not have him for Kocari Wilds and where i am now, Tower of Ishal. My question is, has anyone encountered this before? If so is there a fix? Is one of these mods doing it or a combination of two or more? If i can isolate the problem do i have to start a new game or is it simply a matter of switching off a mod or two and everything will be okay? Note i am relatively new to modding but not Dragon Age and if this issue has already been addressed then i apologize but i did search for something similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
RustyBlade
I have never seen nor heard of anything like that and I doubt that your mods are the issue. For now use the console and type in runscript zz_addparty Alistair, that will get him into your party and make him selectable in the party picker and in camp. If you haven't enabled your console, directions can be found at the Wiki (click here.) If the problem persists with Morrigan and dog, post back and we will go from there. KornRefugee
Thanks for the help! I did as you said and got Alistair back. I haven't played further to see if it affects any other companions but when i do, if the bug persists i wll let you know. As a side note, when I added Alistair he only had 30 hitpoints and 35 stamina but was level 6. He also only had two sword and shield talents. Is there a way I can fix this with the console or anything else. Sadly he was also unaffected by the mod that allows you to pick all his stats and such. It's only a small thing but it does make him practically useless. Thanks again!
RustyBlade
Get the Dragon Age Beguiler 004 make sure Alistair is the character selected as active, then open the console and type in runscript addxp X where X is the amount of xp you need to get him to one point shy of the next level. Let him kill something and use your first talent point to activate the Beguiler. You can then adjust him as you wish.
KornRefugee
It worked to add him in but there seems to still be a problem. I started a new game as a human noble rogue and the dog doesn't appear. At first this is easily rectified by adding him as you suggested but for some reason when i was supposed to be awoken by him in the night (during the origins story) he didn't, i was just alone in the room, i openined the door and the servant who gets shot in the cut scene was just standing there and nothing happened. I do have a lot of mods running now but i believe this is not the source of the problem since it was doing the same earlier when i had fewer mods going. I am uncertain what to do, i am tempted to reinstall the game but i would rather not since it takes awhile. Your help has been invaluable thus far, anymore would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! RustyBlade
Are you patched to 1.04? What official DLC's do you have active? In your original post you listed six mods, is that all you had at the time?
Thandal
Something is definitely very wonky, may have to do a full un-/re-install. The Good News is that your Character(s) and Saves should be fine.
KornRefugee
I do have it patched to 1.04. I have the official Blood Dragon Armor on and other than the 6 mods i mentioned previously i only have a mod that alters Leliana's appearance. I temporarily solved the dog issue by using the console to bring him to my party before you go to sleep in the human origins story. He was there and awoke me and the cut scene with the servant ran properly. I could also pick all his stats, something i could not do with Alistair after i brought him in. My fear is it's going to affect all the main companions that join you when i do meet them. Oddly it lets any temporary companions into your party no problem like Daveth and Jory and your mother during the origins. I think i may have to reinstall as you suggested but i will try and put mods back in because they've added a newness to the game i lost after i initially completed it a few times without any. Thanks again! If there is a fix i could do that avoids it i would take it in a heartbeat but my guess is without enough info, info i can unlikely give online, it's going to be a necessity.
