onegerald
I belong to both houses, and have not been able to get the code book. How were you able to do it? B)
Marxist ßastard
Well, you can kill her and make amends with the Thieves' Guild or put off that quest entirely, or at least until you break apart Fire-Eye's Cammona Tong connections as part of a quest given by Jimmy. Mercius doesn't give you an alternative solution, but rather encourages completing the quest.
DreamOfTheRood
It's best to continue along the Fighter's Guild quests. At one point, you'll be able to get the Code Book back, but that's a while down the line. However, you'll gain a lot of levels by doing the Fighter's Guild quests, and that's good. However, bad news is that it takes a lot of time. So, you figure out the opportunity cost for yourself.
Malchik
Use sneak and steal it from her. I did it with a Chameleon spell (amulet of shadows) so no one knew I had taken it.
tmons78
You can also taunt her into attacking you. As far as I know, she doesn' t really play a big role, and therefore, you can kill her quite easily. Also, the taunting doesn't get you expelled. Dagger of Symachus
Also if you bribe/ intimidate/ admire her disposition up to a good status (I think it has to be at least 70) then she'll just give the code book to you.
onegerald
Not if you belong to both houses. I got her to attack me and I killed her. Chrime was reported. Why???
Acoran
I've ddone that quest countless times and onlykilled her once, you just bribe her a few times and ask about ti and she'll give it to her.
Acinonyk
If you taunted her and you killed her, thus, getting a fine, it was probably because although you taunted her, you didn't allow her to make the first hit, thus making you the bad guy, even though it was self-defence. :P
Marxist ßastard
I've just been through the editor. If you aren't convinced about this, you can easily check her dialogue. The only scenario in which she gives you the book is if you have a disposition of 70 with her and you are not in the Thieves' Guild. Therefore, there are only three scenarios in which you can leave the cornerclub with the book in hand if you're part of the Thieves' Guild. You can pickpocket the book from her, kill her and take the book, or you can mug her and steal the book (in theory, if you cast a slow-working Drain Fatigue [or is that Damage Fatigue?] spell on her and then cast Calm Humanoid, she won't be in bad with you at the time her fatigue reaches zero and you can legally take the book from her slightly less concious hands). However, as I've said, you can just avoid the quest by putting it off entirely or breaking Fire-Eye's ties with the Cammona Tong via a Thieves' Guild quest. If you want to cheat and be done with this quest once and for all... Player->AddItem Bk_SottildesCodeBook 1 With that, this is going in the "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions" thread... 6  0  0  t  h  ...Post
