Having trouble editing .nif's in blender

when I load up Blender and import .Nifs I get very rough shapes not the entire mesh more like a terrible outline of it, fore the Mauser I'm trying to make for example all i get is a rough triangle instead of the actual mesh. I need help I'm new in the modding game and it anyone has an idea why its not working I'd really appreciate it.
