Thandal
Not sure I understand the question. "Permanently install"... what? [Edit: Wrote an explanation of downloading zip files, then realized who was posting the question. So back to my opening query...]
SpellAndShield
Not sure I understand the question. "Permanently install"... what? [Edit: Wrote an explanation of downloading zip files, then realized who was posting the question. So back to my opening query...] Well, every time I want to use DAmodder, I have to go to the site, download it and download it every time over and over...there must be an easier way? Thandal
Hey StarDusk; a. What are you doing with the 181KB "DAModder.zip" file duing the download. (Should be "saving to disc.") b. What are you doing to install "DAMooder"? It doesn't really install as a Windows program, does it? It's just a stand-alone executable isn't it? (I use DAMM, which behaves this way. I unzipped the download into my "...\override" folder and it's always there. But it won't show up on the Start Menu, or anything like that, since it's not "installed". )
XTR3M368
It might be that they just don't know where the executable is for that. I use DAO Modmanager, not that one but I just created a desktop shortcut to the modmanager executable. They should be able to do that and the program doesn't go away. I bet they are copying it over unnecessarily each time.
Thandal
But StarDusk says he is "using" it. Soooo... since I've already checked and the download itself is a ",zip", where is it being saved and where is the extracted ".exe" being stored? It doesn't disappear after running it, so it's still... SOMEWHERE. o_O
RustyBlade
Assuming Stardusk has icons on his desktop, best thing to do would be to extract the exe there. It will be really easy to see if it is indeed disappearing (and it will be really easy to find if it doesn't.)
